Cedarwood, Port Orford Essential Oil
Wood - Steam Distilled
Port Orford Cedarwood oil is only distilled from the majestic trees growing within a 300-kilometre strip from the northern part of California through to parts of Oregon. It is also known as Lawson Cypress oil or Oregon Cedar oil.
A subtler sweeter scent than both the Himalayan and Atlas Cedarwoods. It is described as walking through an Oregon forest; coniferous, earthy, woodsy and slightly sweet. Natural perfumers may also use as an adjunct to their mid note repertoire.
Port Orford Cedarwood oil blends well with Neroli, Cypress and Petitgrain.
Shelf Life of Cedarwood Essential Oil:
Our freshly decanted Cedarwood essential oil will last for 3-4 years minimum from when you open your amber glass bottle if stored correctly:
Primary Storage Considerations:
Keep away from direct light (U.V. radiation)
Keep in the amber glass bottle with lid tightly closed. Only open when you need to and decant into a smaller "working" amber glass bottle if possible (and label so you know what is in it). This is to reduce oxidation.
Secondary Storage Considerations:
Keep in a refrigerator at around 4 degrees celsius.
Hazards: None known.
Contraindications: None known.
