Shelf Life of Sandalwood Essential Oil:
Our freshly decanted Sandalwood essential oil will last for 5-8 years minimum from when you open your amber glass bottle if stored correctly:
Primary Storage Considerations:
Keep away from direct light (U.V. radiation)
Keep in the amber glass bottle with lid tightly closed. Only open when you need to and decant into a smaller "working" amber glass bottle if possible (and label so you know what is in it). This is to reduce oxidation.
Secondary Storage Considerations:
Keep in a refrigerator at around 4 degrees celsius.
Austrocaledonicum Sandalwoods highly sought after rich scent makes it a popular addition in body and skin care products, perfumes and incense. Its fragrance gives off a very calming effect on the body.
This oil contains a very strong woody aroma much like the other Sandalwoods.
Blends well with Tuberose, Labdanum and Vetiver.

Maximum dermal use: 2%
From a total of 3,542 dermatitis patients, only 12 (0.34%) reacted to patch testing with 2% sandalwood oil. Based on this information, and the risk of photoallergic reactions, especially in Japanese people, it's recommended that a maximum use level is of 2%.
