Often referred to as “West Indian Sandalwood,” or "Candlewood" Amyris Essential Oil carries a gentle, woody scent with warm balsamic notes, offering a more accessible alternative to true Sandalwood. Steam distilled from the branches of Amyris balsamifera trees in the mountainous regions of Haiti, this oil is deeply rooted in local tradition, the wood's high oil content earned it the name Bois Chandelle, or “Candlewood,” as it was once used as a natural torch.

A subtle fixative in natural perfumery, Amyris blends beautifully into grounding, meditative formulations and is prized for enhancing emotional ease in evening or sleep rituals. While not as tenacious as Sandalwood, it provides a soft, skin friendly base note in DIY skincare and massage blends, making it an elegant choice for slow, sensory rituals and nighttime aromatherapy.

Uses

Diffuse in the evening, blend into body oils (diluted to 2.5%), or inhale directly from a tissue for a centering effect. Especially beautiful in natural perfumery or bedtime massage blends. Do not use around pets.

Shelf Life
Best used within 2 - 3 years. Store in a cool, dark place away from sunlight. Refrigeration after opening is recommended to slow oxidation.
