The thing is, shea butter, especially in its unrefined form, has a strong, naturally nutty scent. And while it’s full of benefits (rich in fatty acids, vitamins A and E, and deeply supportive for the skin barrier), its aroma tends to overpower any essential oils blended into it. 

So, adding scent in a meaningful way just wasn’t something we could do.

That changed when we came across an organic refined shea butter that still carried everything we love about shea, like the deep hydration, the skin softening texture, and that protective, buttery feel, but without the overpowering aroma. Sourced from ethically harvested shea nuts, this particular butter is refined using a gentle, clay based method, free from harsh chemicals or synthetic additives. It gave us a clean, nourishing base where the essential oils could finally shine through.

Now, we finally had the foundation to start creating scented body butters, without compromising on the integrity of the ingredients. And so, Lavender Natural Body Butter and Citrus Natural Body Butter were created. We chose these scents not only for their aromatic beauty, but also for the way they support and care for the skin, each one with its own purpose, its own rhythm, and a gentle presence that makes it easy to use every day.

Lavender Natural Body Butter

Scented with Lavender French Alpine, this blend was created with slower moments in mind, evening routines, wind down rituals, or whenever the skin and mind feel a little overworked.

Lavender doesn’t just smell relaxing either, it’s also incredibly beneficial for the skin:

• Helps calm irritation, dryness, or post shave sensitivity
• Supports skin repair and recovery, especially when skin feels weather worn or tight
• Has gentle antimicrobial properties that can be helpful for breakout prone or inflamed areas

This one’s perfect for bedtime, or post bath.

Citrus Natural Body Butter

Blended with Bergamot and Mandarin, Citrus was designed as a bright start to the day, a butter that feels light, fresh, and subtly energising on both the skin and the senses.

The citrus essential oils in this blend offer:

• Gentle toning and brightening for dull or uneven skin
• Antioxidant support to help the skin feel fresh and renewed
• A clean, natural scent that’s known to help lift mood and clear mental fog

It’s the one to reach for in the mornings, especially after a warm shower, when your skin is most ready to absorb it.

We got to work on whipping up, scooping, and hand filling fresh batches of our body butters. Every jar is created and poured in house, in small batches. It’s slow, slightly messy, but deeply satisfying!
